Apple and OpenAI are in talks about using OpenAI technology to strengthen the artificial intelligence features in the iOS 18 mobile operating system. It is stated. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple held talks with OpenAI earlier this year, but nothing came of this discussion. Now the two companies are said to be talking about the terms of a possible deal and how Apple could use OpenAI features.

Apple is still in talks with Google about licensing OpenAI as well as Google’s Gemini AI model. Apple hasn’t made a final decision yet, and Gurman suggests the company could partner with both Google and OpenAI or choose another provider entirely.

Rumors suggest that iOS 18 will focus heavily on AI, as Apple introduces AI functionality across the operating system. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed in February that Apple plans to “break new ground” in artificial intelligence. Let’s see what awaits us at the WWDC 2024 event.
