Twitch has been testing a discovery stream feature for live broadcasts and Clips on mobile devices in an effort to get users to spend more time on the platform. Now, the platform has announced that this feature will be rolled out to all users by the end of this month. announced.
The Discovery stream will first appear as a new tab on the mobile app, allowing viewers to switch between a scrollable stream for live streams and another for Clips. Live streaming will show users broadcasts from people they currently follow and ongoing broadcasts from people they don’t follow based on their viewing history. The clips stream will be filled with short clips from live broadcasts.
Users will be able to join ongoing broadcasts from the live stream by tapping on the broadcasters’ avatars to instantly switch to theater mode. Twitch will also show when the streamer is live in the Clips stream, so viewers can check them out there, too.
