Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Codenamed Red, Will Be Introduced This Week
Ubisoft announced that it would finally realize the Feudal Japan journey that fans have been waiting for a long time with Assassin’s Creed Red in 2022. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec (the team behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey), the game was to be the newest open-world RPG interpretation of the series. It was known that Assassin’s Creed Red would eventually get a different name, Red was just a codename. Ubisoft announced today that the name of the game will be Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The name Assassin’s Creed Shadows comes with the image of an hourglass standing in a modern Japanese setting. in x announced. Ubisoft has promised that a countdown will be posted on its social media channels over the next few days. The company tells fans to solve a puzzle related to the hourglass and “those who succeed will be rewarded.”
As the tweet states, we will see a full trailer of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Wednesday, May 15 at 18:00 (UTC). The Ubisoft Store now has an official Assassin’s Creed Shadows landing page, including some images containing mysterious number sequences.
The game is said to have two main characters, a male samurai who is said to be based on the real-life figure of Yasuke, and a female shinobi/ninja about whom we know less. It will also reportedly expand on the stealth gameplay of previous AC games, with Splinter-Cell-style mechanics and destructible environments. Of course, it is useful to take all the rumors with caution, but we will not have to wait too long to find out whether some of them are true or not.
