During Summer Game Fest 2024, it was confirmed by 2K Games that Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 turn-based strategy game will be released from developer Firaxis Games. The announcement only included a teaser trailer that did not show any actual gameplay. It is stated that the full gameplay of the game will be shown in August.
The game will be released in 2025 for PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X consoles and Nintendo Switch. This marks the first time a Civilization game has been released on day one for both PC and consoles. In past Civilization games, the PC version was released first and then the console version.
