Copilot Features for OneDrive Delayed to Summer

In February, Microsoft announced that it would offer support for Copilot generative artificial intelligence features for its OneDrive cloud storage service in April. Now, the company has given a new date for the chatbot’s arrival on OneDrive. Microsoft says Copilot will be added to OneDrive in summer 2024 announced However, no details were given about the reason for the postponement.

The blog post published by Microsoft on February 29, which originally announced the end of April date, has been edited to show the new summer time period.

In the OneDrive blog post, some other new features that will be added to the service were also mentioned. One of these will include more features for searching for files in OneDrive on the web. Microsoft says that when these improvements are implemented, they will have the following functionality:

  • New filters: Added filters for different file types to help you find exactly what you need.
  • Date filter: Narrow your search results by files created or modified within a specific time period.
  • Scoping options: Easily perform precise searches within specific folders, sites, or document libraries.
  • Updated interface: Visual improvements and more metadata help you find your files faster.
