Two new features for WhatsApp Communities: Events and Replies announced. WhatsApp now allows you to create events in group chats that are part of a community.
The messaging app notes that users who are part of a community group chat can now create an event, which will be pinned at the top of the chat thread and can also be accessed from the group’s information page. Other users attending the event will be able to respond and find out who else will attend. Additionally, automatic notifications will be received as the date and time of the event approaches. WhatsApp announced that the event feature will be expanded to all groups in the coming months.
The second new feature for communities will be the ability of group members to respond to updates published by administrators in the Announcement Group. In this way, administrators will be able to receive news from their members and you will be able to easily continue to follow what is happening in your Community thanks to these groups. By grouping and minimizing replies, you can see what others are saying in context and notifications will be muted for everyone .
WhatsApp also said that more features for Communities and group chats are on the way.
