Microsoft is working on a new way to launch Copilot in Windows 11. In addition to the custom keyboard shortcut (Win + C) and the ability to click the Copilot button on the taskbar, Microsoft wants its new AI assistant to open when you mouse over it.

The company made this change Monday Announced in the latest Windows 11 preview build released in the Beta Channel:

“We are testing a new hover experience for Copilot on Windows. When you hover your mouse cursor over the Copilot icon on the taskbar, the Copilot pane will open. Once the Copilot pane is opened, it will close unless interacted with. This will begin to be slowly rolled out to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel over the next few weeks.”

This change by Microsoft is not new. Previously, he had changed the Windows Search tab to open only with the mouse cursor.

In addition, the Microsoft Edge application has a special Copilot button that does not require a click to open the assistant. To launch Copilot in Edge, just hover the mouse over it.

The company is working on various features to make Copilot more useful for Windows 11 users. Examples of these include commands with new animations, accessibility integration with system settings and device information.
