Ubisoft announced that the free-to-play shooter game called XDefiant will eventually be released for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC platforms on May 21. announced. We hope that the long-awaited game will not be postponed again at the last minute.

The game was first announced in July 2021 as Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, with the theme of combining characters and settings from Ubisoft’s various Tom Clancy games into a hero shooter. The company removed the Tom Clancy name from the game because it decided to expand the scope of XDefiant in 2022.

The game was officially planned to be released in the summer of 2023, but later Ubisoft announced that XDefiant could not pass the certification tests for Xbox and  PlayStation platforms. In October 2023, the development team indefinitely suspended the game’s release due to issues discovered during a public playtesting session.

XDefiant will launch its first 6-week preseason event on May 21. The description reads as follows: “The action begins by offering five different game modes across 14 maps, 24 weapons with 44 attachments, and five playable factions inspired by the Ubisoft series; Each of these brings unique gameplay power-ups and abilities to the fighting arena.â€
