MSI’s overclocking expert says that Intel’s next-generation desktop platform Core Ultra 200 series may arrive in the third quarter of 2024. implied.

Toppc, an overclocking expert in the MSI motherboard department, is known for his architectural changes and his predictions about their impact on overclocking. It provides early information about the capabilities of the platforms by sharing the comprehensive test results carried out by MSI. At the MSI Dragon event held in Wuhan, China, Toppc gave clues about a new platform called “Next” focusing on the memory controller of the Arrow Lake-S platform.

For now, the only confirmed detail about this platform is that it will only offer DDR5 memory support, compatible with the AMD AM5 series. However, Toppc stated that specific features have not yet been announced and more details will be shared in the third quarter. This means that the Intel Core Ultra 200 desktop series may be released or announced at an earlier date. It also shows that companies such as MSI are aware of the platform’s capabilities and are making preparations accordingly.

The LGA-1851 socket platform, which was originally expected to be released alongside the mobile Meteor Lake in the fourth quarter of last year, was delayed. The MTL-S desktop series, which was planned to be the first series to use the new socket, was canceled and an update was brought to the Raptor Lake series by Intel. With the change of plans, it seems that Intel aims to launch the new series earlier.

In January this year, details about the Intel 800 chipset series were leaked. Leaks have confirmed that Intel plans to offer three different versions of its Arrow Lake silicon: 24-core, 22-core, and 14-core. These versions will combine Lion Cove performance cores with Skymont efficiency cores.
