Former Magic Leap employees create a new laptop called Spacetop G1 developed. The product promises comfortable use by pairing it with a lightweight augmented reality (AR) glasses.

Spacetop G1, which carries a price tag of $ 1,700, basically consists of a keyboard with glasses attached. There is no screen, but the device has a top case where glasses can be stored when not in use. Videos featuring the device show users typing on the keyboard while viewing a series of AR windows placed around them.

Spacetop runs a spatial operating system the company calls SpaceOS, designed for productivity. SpaceOS focuses on web tasks that provide content without the company having to hire developers to develop applications.

The weight of the AR glasses is 85 grams, while the width of the keyboard is just under 12 inches and the entire setup weighs 1,360 kg.

The product includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS8550 chip, 128 GB storage, 16 GB RAM and two open ear speakers. The keyboard component includes two USB-C ports that allow connection to a traditional external display, and the battery can last up to eight hours. The glasses are equipped with two OLED display panels with 1920×1080 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, and special prescription lenses are also supported.

The product, which is currently in the early booking process, is targeted for shipment in October 2024.
