Michael Pachter, claims that Game Pass will reach 200 million subscribers in 10 years. He also stated that Microsoft’s Game Pass subscriber count is actually 34 million and that this figure does not include Xbox Live Gold members. He also made a bet that the platform will reach 200 million subscribers in the next 10 years.
Don’t get me wrong, there is no decrease in the number of Xbox Live Gold memberships, Microsoft does not count Xbox Live Gold members as part of Game Pass. Pachter, who expects the number of subscribers to increase with the addition of Activision Blizzard games to Game Pass, says that publishing special games only on their own platforms is a wrong model.
Microsoft will customize and offer some content to PlayStation and Switch, and some content to Game Pass over time. Considering that the industry is facing rising budgets and the need to find new players is increasing, we can clearly say that the platform-specific game model is becoming obsolete.
