At the Triple-i Initiative event, Ubisoft announced The Rogue Prince of Persia, a game developed by Evil Empire and to be released this month. Let us remind you at this point that Evil Empire is the studio responsible for the development of Dead Cells.

Offering a “new take on the Prince,” players go up against an invading Hun force and a shaman who uses dark magic. Every time the prince starts to fight, a special “Bola” will revive him in a safe place. With each death, the entire level will be recreated using procedural technology to keep things fresh.

The game has a heavy focus on fast-paced platforming and smooth yet detailed combat. The prince runs through the wall to improve his attacks and find new routes. Everything from double blades and bows to shields and grappling hooks will be available as weapons for players.

Fans can dive into the roguelike starting May 14, with more updates to expand the title with “story content, levels, and other gameplay elements” planned later. The game will probably be released on other platforms when the 1.0 launch arrives.
