DJI has officially launched the Avata 2 drone model, the successor to Avata. announced. So, what are the DJI Avata 2 features and price?

DJI Avata 2 Features

DJI Avata 2 comes with an updated appearance, better and longer flight. The drone features a larger 1/1.3-inch camera sensor with larger pixels to capture more light, 4 more minutes of battery life (at 23 minutes), five more degrees of gimbal tilt (from negative 85 degrees to 80 degrees), and 3 more kilometers of range. It comes with a very maximum range (13km).

The product is also 28 grams lighter than the previous model, which weighed 377 grams, and has a flatter, more aerodynamic structure. Avata 2 is more stable in the air with its 16 mm shorter and 32 mm wider frame. Although the drone does not yet have forward collision sensors, it now has a backward collision avoidance feature.

The new DJI Goggles 3 now has a built-in battery and GPS. This means no more dangling battery packs and no need for phone connectivity for Remote ID. The dual 1080p, 700 nits micro OLED headset also now has an extra hour of battery life over the original, a “one-touch defog function” that spins its fans to remove condensation, two extra antennas, and a new sync algorithm. As DJI claims, smoother and more stable video transmission and a maximum video bitrate of 60 Mbps are offered, while the frame rate is still 100 FPS.

The new DJI RC Motion 3 motion controller is smaller and the record button has been moved to the side. The controller includes a dual-stage trigger and a nifty new dial that lets you choose pre-programmed 360-degree pans, rolls, or 180-degree drifts, which you can accomplish with the flick of a joystick.

Avata 2 now has a whopping 46GB of internal video storage, more than double that of the previous generation. DJI says this area will hold 90 minutes of 1080p60 video (or 45 minutes at 4K60). The drone’s built-in Wi-Fi now also allows you to download images directly to phones at up to 30MB/s or share a live feed with your phone. For charging, it is possible to plug the product’s own 65W USB-C PD charger directly into the drone.
