Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by Warhorse Studios announced. The game is planned as a continuation of Henry’s story as he adventures to new frontiers, including kingdoms, in this medieval role-playing game.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 improves on the original experience in every aspect, from the combat and visuals to the expansiveness of the world. The studio says that the game will have a much broader scope with a much more “epic” story compared to the first game.
“What we’re doing now is exactly what was supposed to happen in the beginning, but we couldn’t do it because we didn’t have the resources, the experience and all that stuff,” said Warhorse Creative Director Daniel Vavra. “We’ve proven that our concept works and now we can take it to another level, which is something we’ve always wanted.”
According to the developer, focusing on realism in this medieval world, improving Henry’s skills and originality-based first-person combat will also be key points in the sequel. CryEngine returns as the toolset powering the game.
The setting of the game, which will take place mostly in the silver mining city of Kuttenberg and the surrounding rural areas, is described as follows: “Kingdom of Bohemia, Early 15th Century: Chaos befell the kingdom. As the invaders pillage this ungoverned land and sow fear and terror, Henry of Skalitz seeks revenge for his murdered family. Now a trusted member of the rightful king’s allies, Henry is sent to accompany Ser Hans Capon on a diplomatic mission. “After being ambushed and nearly killed, the two young men embark on a series of dangerous adventures that put their skills, character and friendship to the ultimate test.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released this year for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 platforms.
