Artificial Intelligence Supported Battery Technology is Coming to Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Battery AI
A Thinking Battery

Samsung is said to be working on a new artificial intelligence-supported battery technology called “Battery AI” for the Galaxy S25 series, which will allegedly increase battery life by up to 10%.

The Galaxy S24 series was introduced with Samsung’s first artificial intelligence-supported software package called Galaxy AI. Considering that new models account for 53% of the Korean giant’s operating profit in the first quarter of 2024, it can be said that these features are one of the reasons behind its popularity. However, according to a separate rumor, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra may disappoint in terms of battery because it will have the same 5,000 mAh battery as the previous generation models. Still, Samsung plans to increase battery life by up to 10% with a feature it calls Battery AI.

Battery AI, as the name suggests, could be a smart feature integrated into the next-gen Galaxy AI that increases the overall runtime of the smartphone without affecting its performance. PandaFlashAccording to information received from an unnamed source, users may experience a 5-10% increase in battery life thanks to this feature. Software to increase battery life has been around for years, and many programs are available for both smartphones and laptops.

Unfortunately, these programs often slow down the CPU and GPU, reducing performance or doing nothing at all. In some cases, the maximum speed of the 5G modem is limited, which defeats the whole purpose of running these programs on your devices. While PandaFlash doesn’t have details on how Battery AI will work, it speculates that the feature will “eliminate” unnecessary background tasks that consume system resources to provide longer battery life.

Interestingly, the leaker doesn’t mention Battery AI coming to the Galaxy S25 series. But most of his posts are related to Samsung’s upcoming flagship series, and since Galaxy AI is a key part of the Korean giant’s marketing strategy, this addition seems likely to come in the next release. While other apps require users to choose which background processes to remove to save battery life, Battery AI can do this for you.

We believe that the solid integration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Exynos 2500’s NPU with Battery AI will be crucial in taking battery life to the next level. However, are there possible scenarios where this artificial intelligence will close some applications that are important to us without our knowledge? We will read the users’ experiences with curiosity when it arrives.
