Google I/O 2024 developer activity of the company’s deepmind in the form of a new artificial intelligence assistant called Project Astra announced. The artificial intelligence assistant can use a smartphone or even a set of smart glasses to answer the owner’s questions with voice commands.

In the promotional video, the user asks Project Astra to tell when it sees something making a sound. Astra says she sees a speaker. Later, when asked about a part of the speaker, the answer is given that the part is the tweeter and that it produces high frequency sounds.

In another part of the video demo, the camera displays some code on the whiteboard and the user asks what that part of the code does. Astra’s answer is that the code defines the Encryption and Decryption functions. He then adds that this code appears to use AES-CBC encryption to encode and decode data based on a key and an initialization vector.

The introduction of Project Astra will be presented to everyone physically attending the Google I/O conference. However, there is no information about when Astra will be available for general use.
