Google Photos Gemini

A new assistant powered by Gemini artificial intelligence for the Google Photos application at the Google I\O 2024 developer event announced. This application, called Ask Photos, can take photos/videos from your gallery with a personalized title, tell you what happened in them, or create the highlights of the trip after a holiday. By the way, let’s note that the company says that more than 6 billion photos are uploaded to Photos every day.

Google Photos to Get Ask Photos Feature with Gemini Support

With Ask Photos, you will be able to ask what you are looking for in a natural way. For example, say: “Show me the best photo of every national park I’ve visited” and Google Photos will be able to show you what you need and save you all that scrolling trouble. Using Gemini’s multi-modal capabilities, the tool will save you time that you could otherwise spend scrolling through old photos.

Google Photos can currently search for pets, people, places and more in photos/videos. It also presents old photos and videos in a notebook-like timeline through a feature called Memories. The AI assistant builds on these features and can understand the context and subject of photos to reveal details.

Google states that the tool also focuses on privacy: “Your personal data in Google Photos is never used for advertising purposes. Except in rare cases of abuse or harm, people will not review your conversations and personal data on Ask Photos. Additionally, we do not train any productive AI products, other than Google Photos, on this personal data, including other Gemini models and products.â€
