Microsoft Announces Automatic Super Resolution Technology Named AutoSR
Microsoft AutoSR

Microsoftannounced its new super resolution technology called AutoSR, which works at the system level. The feature, which will first be available on Copilot+ laptops with Snapdragon X processors, makes it possible to play games more fluently at higher resolutions. It does.

AutoSR, which currently supports 12 games, promises a performance increase that players have not experienced before. Supported games include popular productions such as 7 Days to Die, Borderlands 3, Control, Dark Souls III, God of War, Resident Evil 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

So what is required to use AutoSR?

  • A Copilot+ PC with a Qualcomm® Snapdragon® X processor and Hexagon NPU and integrated GPU
  • Windows 11, version 24H2 or later
  • Latest graphics and neural processor drivers
  • 1080p or higher display resolution

This is where the real problem begins. Copilot+ laptops with Snapdragon X processors are not yet available in the market. These computers are expected to be available for sale in mid-June.

AutoSR is a technology developed by Microsoft as a rival to technologies such as AMD RSR and Lossless Scaling. Since it works at the system level, it is a great advantage that it can be used independently of the graphics card manufacturer.

Microsoft will continue to expand the list of games that support AutoSR. As the technology becomes widespread, players are expected to experience a more fluid and high-definition gaming experience than ever before.
