Instagram Direct Messages Folder Management

An upcoming update for Instagram will introduce a Folder Management feature that will allow you to rename and reorder message folders in the Direct Message (DM) inbox. can be offered.

Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi gives an idea of what Instagram’s Folder Management feature might look like, with different folders for different posts:

  • Primary: Shows high priority chats that you want to see first.
  • General: Shows low priority chats that you want to return to later. Notifications for this folder will be disabled by default.
  • All: Shows chats in all folders except messages forwarded to your Hidden Words folder.
  • Requests: Shows message requests from accounts you do not follow.
  • From ads: Shows conversations in messaging ads on Instagram.

Another difference between these folders is that you cannot rename or reorder them all. For example, you can rename or reorder the Primary and Public default folders, but you will not be able to change the All folder. Additionally, chats will not be able to be moved from the Ads folder to a different folder.

Currently, no details are given about the release date of the folder management feature.
