Google has released the first beta version of Android 15, which can be downloaded to Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program. While major feature reveals will likely be reserved for next month’s Google I/O, the Beta 1 update ushers in improvements in key areas.
One of the main changes coming with Android 15 Beta 1 concerns app optimization for larger screens. Applications developed for the new operating system will automatically be rendered end-to-end by default, eliminating the need for developers to implement additional code to maximize screen usage.
Additionally, Android 15 Beta 1 introduces an operating system-level feature for app archiving and unarchiving that will help manage storage space. By archiving applications they use infrequently, users can now free up space and preserve application data for seamless reactivation later.
