Android Auto AI Message Digest Update Released
Android Auto AI Message Digest feature

Google Android Auto 11.4 update By publishing, AI introduced a new feature called message digests. This feature helps users quickly understand long messages without having to listen to the entire message read by Google Assistant. Originally, this feature was announced earlier this year but was not made available. However, with the latest update, it now appears to be widely accessible.

When you launch Android Auto after installing version 11.4, Google will send a notification to your phone that message digests are now available. By clicking on this notification, you can be directed to the settings where you can manage the feature. You should note that AI message digests work for long messages with a minimum of 40 words. For shorter messages, Google Assistant will continue to read the entire content out loud as before.

When you first use the AI message digest in Android Auto, Google will inform you that it has created a summary, but it may be inaccurate or incomplete. While the message is being read, a silent notification will appear on your phone indicating that the summary has been created. The summary itself is, as you might expect, much shorter than the original message. For example, a test message of more than 100 words was sent and summarized in approximately 15 words. Although some details were removed during the process, the original meaning of the message is still preserved. However, the results may vary depending on the situation.

There is no significant difference in the user interface when reading the summary. Let’s say that the user interface now covers the entire screen, thanks to the recent redesign. After reading the summary, Android Auto warns you to give feedback about the summary, that is, to correct errors and omissions.
