The new interface is currently being rolled out in stages by adding a native bottom navigation bar to Android. The application also provides a new look by selecting a new color palette after evaluating 35 different options. WhatsApp says it focuses on deeper tones to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions. This has caused the application’s dark mode to now be a tone darker to make it easier to read messages.
Thanks to the new attachment system on iOS, sending photos and videos is now easier. Instead of a full-screen menu, you get an expandable tray that makes it easier to see the options when sending media and documents.
The icons inside the application are now updated with a more rounded and abstract style, and the default background in chats is also renewed.
