Continuing HUAWEI’s thin and light laptop approach, the new 2024 model MateBook D16 models come with various component options. RAM and storage (NVMe) options on devices equipped with Intel’s 12th and 13th generation processors i5-12450H, i5-13420H, i7-13700H and i9-13900H processors are 8 GB + 512 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB. It is offered as +1 TB.
As you can guess, there is no external GPU in the laptop. For this reason, you have internal GPU options depending on the processors you prefer. These are as follows;
- Intel Iris Xᵉ Graphics (Intel Core i7-13700H and Intel Core i9-13900H)
- Intel UHD Graphics (Intel Core i5-12450H and Intel Core i5-13420H)
Screen
One of the most striking features of HUAWEI laptops is their screens. The new HUAWEI MateBook D16 2024, which comes with a 16-inch screen, uses an IPS panel. This panel offers a resolution of 1920 × 1200 with a screen ratio of 16:10 and a brightness of 300 nits.
The panel also offers 45% NTSC accuracy with 100% sRGB. The contrast ratio on the screen, which offers a viewing angle of 178 degrees, is 1200:1.
Battery
Such a business and education focused device is expected to offer a long battery life. Being aware of this, HUAWEI has used batteries that offer 56 and 70 Wh capacities, depending on the model. There is also 65W fast charging support as we are used to.
Camera
A camera is also a must in a laptop that will be used for business purposes. It is not buried between the Fn keys, the camera we encounter on the screen offers 720p resolution. Using AI-supported FollowCam technology, this camera allows you to have a “face-to-face” meeting with the AI Camera, which automatically adjusts to stay in the center of the screen and maintain interactive communication by establishing eye contact. You can also set the background freely to protect your privacy with virtual background.
Keyboard
HUAWEI MateBook D16 2024 models come with a full-size keyboard. This means that the devices also include a numeric keypad. The numeric keypad doubles office efficiency when preparing reports, writing documents and entering data, allowing you to enter numbers with one hand. Plus more smart keys are here as your handy assistants for the mobile office.
At the top right of the keyboard, there is a power button with a fingerprint scanner.
Connection Options
Laptops equipped with 12th and 13th Generation Intel processors use current connection standards. These include Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.1.
HUAWEI MateBook D 16, the first laptop model to receive SGS five-star Wi-Fi signal capability certification, increases file download speed by 51% thanks to this feature. In this way, it can detect signals up to 270 meters.
Additionally, laptops have 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen1 (data, charging and display ports supported), 1 USB-A 3.2 1st Gen, 1 USB-A 2.0, 1 HDMI and 2 of 3.5 mm headphones and microphones. It has 1 in one jack.
