Intel Introduced LGA-1851 Socket
LGA-1851 Socket

Intel will launch the latest LGA-1851 socket with partners at the Embedded World 2024 event introduced. This socket will be released for Meteor Lake-PS and will also be available for Arrow Lake-S later this year.

The LGA-1851 socket will be integrated into the Meteor Lake-PS series of mobile/desktop CPU hybrids tailored for different applications, replacing consumer-grade CPUs. Although it is the same size as the LGA-1700 (45×37.5mm), the locking pins have been changed to make it incompatible with older CPUs.

The socket contains 151 extra pins compared to the previous model, so it will be incompatible with older CPUs. The LGA-1700 socket had some shortcomings, and users often resorted to anti-bending brackets. It is not yet known whether the new socket requires such an accessory.

By the way, the first LGA-1851 socket motherboards were exhibited at Embedded World, but let’s say that these motherboards have little to do with the Intel 800 series that will be released in the second half of the year.

Ahmet is an enthusiastic, excited young man and is eager to share what he has learned.
