In a news report last week, it was claimed that Xiaomi had the exclusive first launch rights for Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. We thought it might be related to Xiaomi 15. Today is a new rumorprovides information about exactly when this launch will take place. According to Digital Chat Station, one of the prolific leak sources, the first device running Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is planned to be released in mid-October.
If the previous news about Xiaomi’s exclusive launch rights is true, this means the Xiaomi 15 (and possibly along with the 15 Pro) will be officially introduced in mid-October. Of course, a lot of things could change by then because it’s still quite a long way off until then. However, it is worth noting that Xiaomi 14 was announced on October 26 last year.
The introduction of Xiaomi 15 will probably be in China this time, as it has been for the company’s flagships in the last few years.
According to Digital Chat Station, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s single-core score in Geekbench is around 2,700 and its multi-core score is around 10,000. Its processor is said to have two extra large cores that will run at 3.6 to 4 GHz. The leak source tells us to expect relatively large theoretical performance improvements on both the CPU and GPU sides.
