Windows Task Manager Now Measures Memory Speed Accurately, MT/s Era Begins
New Windows Task Manager feature

Windows Task Manager, as one of the most dynamic parts of the operating system, is undergoing an interesting change. Although memory manufacturers target gigahertz to increase performance, memory speed does not quite match the frequency. Due to the working principle of DDR technology, it can perform more operations than the memory clock speed indicates. Therefore, the memory speed shown in tools like CPU-Z does not reflect the actual speed.

Memory manufacturers still use the MHz value because it is easier for customers to understand. However, Microsoft is preparing to change this situation by taking steps to popularize the correct term to describe memory speed. Since the proper metric to measure memory speed is MT/s (Mega Transfers Per Second), this metric will now be displayed in the Windows Task Manager.

This new task manager feature is available to all beta users (build 22635.3570), but there is also a manual method to enable it if you wish. To do this ViveTool You will need a third party tool called and you will need to run the command “vivetool /enable /id:38476224,48380607”.

We’ve gotten used to the confusion of terms, but it looks like we’re going to say goodbye to one of the biggest ones. Which do you think is the correct term? Don’t forget to mention it in the comment section.
