Microsoft has been releasing reports every six months for the last year and a half on how it monitors the online security of Xbox players. This week the company published its fourth report, claiming to see improvements in the player community thanks to new tools and reporting features.

One on Xbox Wire in post Microsoft says that the voice reporting feature, which it introduced in July 2023, gives positive results. This feature allows players to record and submit language in games that they believe is being used by other players that violate Microsoft’s Xbox Community Standards. The blog post states the following:

“Since its release, 138 thousand voice recordings have been captured using our ‘Catch now, report later’ system. “When these reports were resolved through the Enforcement Action system, 98% of the players showed improvement in their behavior and stopped receiving sanctions.”

The company launched the system they call App Action for Xbox players in August 2023. This system imposes sanctions on players if they violate the rules of conduct. Temporary suspension of online access as a result of multiple sanctions, or even permanent suspension of the account. It does.

Microsoft has also made progress to prevent fake Xbox accounts from being used online. The company says its methods have “blocked millions of fake accounts from being used as soon as they were created.”
