Xiaomi 14 Features

Xiaomi 14 series attracted a lot of attention with the hardware and technological features it offers. The Xiaomi 14 model, which we had the opportunity to review today, appears as the base model of the series.

Although Xiaomi 14 is the base model, it uses the same platform as the Pro model: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This chipset, produced with 4nm production technology, has 1 ARM Cortex-X4 main core running at 3.3 GHz, 2 at 3.0 GHz and 3 cores. It has ARM Cortex-A720 auxiliary cores running at 3.2 GHz and 2 ARM Cortex-A520 efficiency cores running at 2.3 GHz.

The new smartphone also offers 8/12/16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512/1 TB UFS 4.0 storage options.

Screen

Xiaomi uses an OLED-based AMOLED display on its new smartphone, which has now become a standard in high-end mobile devices. This screen offers a 120 Hz refresh rate with a resolution of 1200 × 2670. Additionally, let’s add that the screen has a normal brightness of 1000 nits and a peak brightness of 3000 nits and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Camera

Xiaomi continues to cooperate with Leica on the camera side. The camera lenses of the phone are signed by Leica and provide the device with various capabilities.

While the Light Fusion 900 sensor is used in the main camera of the phone, we see that a lens called LEICA VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.6-2.2/14-75 ASPH is used. This camera comes with 50 MP resolution and supports 2.4 µm, 4-in-1 Super Pixel technology. Additionally, we should point out that the main camera offers features such as OIS (optical image stabilizer) and automatic focus tracking.

When we switch to the second camera, we see a camera signed by Leica. Xiaomi can take portrait shots and take 10cm macro photos with the 50 MP resolution sensor it has chosen here. Let us remind you that the sensor can also capture images with 32 MP resolution in normal photo mode. In addition, the second camera has OIS (optical image stabilizer) and automatic focus tracking features, just like the main camera.

When we come to the third camera, the Leica signature continues. This camera has a 50 MP sensor used for wide-angle shots. It is possible to take 115 degree ultra wide angle shots with this camera, which has a 14 mm equivalent focal length.

When we get to the front of the device, we see that it has a selfie camera with 32 MP resolution.

Battery

Xiaomi 14 needs a large battery with its hardware and large screen. For this reason, Xiaomi used a 4610 mAh battery in the device. Supported by the Xiaomi Surge Battery Management system, this battery is managed by the Xiaomi Surge chip. Xiaomi states that thanks to all this hardware, the phone, which offers 90W HyperCharge charging support, is charged from 0 to 100% in 31 minutes. It should also be noted that the phone offers 50W support in wireless charging mode.

Connection Options

When it comes to connection options, we see the advantages of using the most up-to-date hardware. It is natural that new generation smartphones come with 5G as network technology, but Xiaomi 14 also supports Wi-Fi 7 technology, which is not even widely used yet. There is also Bluetooth 5.4 support for accessories. There is also a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C socket on the wired connection side.
