X will no longer offer the option to hide blue ticks regardless of whether users have a Premium subscription. The VergeAccording to a report by , the app has started notifying its users that “X Premium’s checkmark hiding feature will be discontinued soon.”
The change comes shortly after blue ticks began unexpectedly being added to the accounts of users with at least 2,500 followers who paid for the X Premium subscription.
While Elon Musk claimed that the change was a privilege, some of his critics (including previously verified users) were not happy with the blue tick appearing on their accounts. Otherwise, others would suspect that they were actually paying for a subscription.
