Chinese Intellifusion introduced a new AI-specific box called DeepEye, which promises affordable AI solutions with a comprehensive upgrade roadmap. The AI box includes the company’s own DeepEdge10 Max chip. Although details about the chip are scarce, it is shared that the chipset is built on a 14nm process, with a chip configuration with a D2D interface and native RISC-V architecture.

What Does Intellifusion DeepEye Offer?

Intellifusion has planned a comprehensive roadmap to bring DeepEye AI boxes to market. The first batch includes the DeepEdge10Max chip, which promises to bring on board 48 TOPS of AI computing at INT8 training performance.

The next iteration, scheduled for release in the first half of 2025, will come with the more powerful DeepEdge10Ultra chip, which is expected to deliver 96 TOPS of power. Additionally, a lightweight device that adopts the DeepEdge10Pro chip and provides 24 TOPs is also planned to be released in the coming months.

Intellifusion is not a new company in the Chinese market, as it has worked with local governments on various projects aimed at civilian welfare, mostly involving artificial intelligence capabilities. This is their first foray into consumer markets, and it looks like they can successfully attract customers who need AI computing through local resources. Moreover, the company plans to launch its products with an aggressive price tag, and the cost of the first batch of DeepEye AI boxes is reported to be around 1000 yuan.

At this price, Intellifusion believes it offers a solution that is 90% more competitive than alternatives that rely heavily on GPUs and cost much more. The company will meet the need for AI computing power at this level by targeting its products at low- and mid-level enterprise users.
